Following an incident Saturday morning involving three men, a stolen vehicle, and stolen firearms, the Candler County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public in locating a person of interest.

“We are seeking information on the whereabouts of Twante Griffin as a person of interest in our case earlier this morning. If you have any information please contact us. Pass along.”
As reported earlier:
One man is in custody and two others are on the run after a confrontation with law enforcement this morning over a stolen vehicle and stolen firearms.
A Candler County deputy and a Metter Police Officer arrived on scene to find three black males exiting the car believed to be stolen.
A chase ensued and law enforcement officers are still searching for two suspects.
The Metter Police Department took to Facebook early Saturday morning:
“Early this morning, around Hours, Candler County Sheriffs Deputy Rhett Kelley and Metter Police Officer Kris Story are dispatched to look for a stolen truck, white 2017 Silver Chevrolet pickup truck, and they locate that vehicle on Howard Rd. and three black males exited the truck and fled on foot. Metter Patrol Corporal Kris Story gave chase and has apprehended one suspect. At this time there are two other suspects (one black male is in a red hoodie and dark pants/long shorts) in the Howard Rd., Thain St., Matthew St and Ellis St at this time. If anyone sees anything suspicious or someone matching that description, please contact the Sheriffs Office or the Metter Police Department at 912-685-2291 (dispatch) or 911.”
THe Candler County Sheriff’s Office also took to their Facebook page to share the following message around 8:00 A.M.:
“We are currently pursuing two individuals involved with a stolen vehicle and firearms in the Howard Road, Thain St,Brannen Rd Shamrock Rd area. We have a third person believed to be involved in custody.
Do not approach these individuals. they are considered armed. Please call 911 if you observe anyone suspicious.”
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, which had a K-9, and Georgia State Patrol are assisting in the search.
