Mr. Lloyd Jefferson Motes 98, of Metter died Tuesday evening at Cedar Plantation in Metter. The Bulloch County native, moved to Metter in 1956. He was a member of Metter First Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps having served in WWII from 1941 to 1945 as a Tech Sergeant; he was also a retired farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Go Bar Hunting Club, and he was a dual member of Ogeechee Masonic Lodge #213 in Statesboro, and the Metter Masonic Lodge #735 for over 60 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby Dell Rushing Motes, daughter Susan Kathleen Motes Gurley; 5 brothers, 1 sister; and 1 great-grandchild.

He is survived by his son Kenneth B. (Celia) Boswell, of Hiawassee, Georgia; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 5:00pm-7:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 8, 2016 2:00pm at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes.

Burial will be at the Brannen Cemetery in Bulloch County.
