Meadows Health has received the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO®) given for the hospital’s high quality of patient care and safety standards.
Awarded by DNV GL – Healthcare, an international certification organization, the accreditation’s program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. ISO 9001 is used by performance-driven organizations around the world to advance their quality and sustainability objectives.
To earn the NIAHO, Meadows Health demonstrated that it met or exceeded patient safety standards set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“The accreditation is consistent with our hospital’s mission and values,” said Meadows Health CEO Alan Kent. “The ability to integrate ISO 9001 quality standards with our clinical and financial processes was particularly attractive to us since those are in lockstep with our ongoing commitment to providing quality healthcare.”
The new accreditation is valid for three years and requires an annual survey and the hospital’s continual compliance with DNV GL’s accreditation process to main the NIAHO® status.
Meadows Health is the only nationally accredited hospital in Montgomery, Toombs, Treutlen and Tattnall counties
